Angel L. Velazquez, MD is a primary care sports medicine physician. He received his undergraduate degree at Universidad de Puerto Rico. Dr. Velazquez received his medical degree from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara. He is Fifth Pathway certified, and completed his residency in family medicine at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Dr. Velazquez completed his fellowship in primary care sports medicine from Bethesda Family Medicine and Beacon Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.
Dr. Velazquez assists many team physicians in the area including Kings and Archbishop Moeller High Schools. He also assists Cincinnati Reds team physician, Dr. Tim Kremchek in the care of minor and major league players of the Cincinnati Reds organization along with the Cincinnati Commandos and University of Cincinnati Bearcat Hockey. In addition, Dr. Velazquez is involved with pre-participation physical examinations for athletes at schools such as Wittenberg University, College of Mount Saint Joseph, Wilmington College, and Xavier University. Dr. Velazquez?s most recent pre-participation physical examinations were with the Cincinnati Reds, Dominican Republic Summer League and their Spring Training in 2011 and 2012.
Dr. Velazquez enjoys baseball, cooking, salsa music and dancing, as well as the outdoors. He has two children and is fluent in both written and spoken Spanish.
