\n Our theme this month is the work \;experiences for \;Hispanic/Latino Immigrants. \;
\n Our presenter is Michael \;Flynn
\n Michael Flynn is an applied anthropologist whose research interests include social determinants of health\, organizational culture\, and intervention effectiveness. He currently serves as a social scientist with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) where he coordinates the Occupational Health Equity Program. He is also the project officer for a program of research to better understand and improve the occupational health of immigrant workers. Prior to coming to NIOSH in 2004\, Michael worked for ten years in non-governmental organizations in Guatemala\, Mexico\, and the United States. He is a member of the National Advisory Committee for the Mexican consulates&rsquo\; Ventanillas de Salud health promotion program and is a research fellow of the Consortium for Multicultural Psychology Research at Michigan State University. He has a Master&rsquo\;s degree in anthropology from the University of Cincinnati is currently pursuing a PhD in anthropology at the University of Kentucky.\n\n \n
