DESCRIPTION:Ohio Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant CDCA 40 Hour Certificate Training\n\n2018 annual event hosted by Addiction Services Council\n\n\n\n \n\n\nThis training will include an overview of\, but not limited to:\n\nTheories of Addiction: The effects of addiction on individuals including the biological\, psychological\, social and spiritual dimensions of life and functioning.       5 Hours\n\nCounseling Procedures & Strategies with addicted populations:  Theories and techniques used in the treatment of psychoactive substance abuse and dependence. 14 Hours\n\nGroup Process & Techniques working with addicted populations:  Components of group process and analysis\, dynamics of facilitation. 5 Hours \n\nAssessment & Diagnosis of Addiction: Assessment procedures\, Diagnostic Interviewing\, Dual Diagnosis.  3 Hours\n\nTreatment Planning: Adapting treatment strategies to individual needs and characteristics\, criteria for admission\, continuing care and discharge appropriate to diverse levels of treatment.  Documentation and Relapse Prevention.  7 Hours\n\nLegal & Ethical Issues pertaining to Chemical Dependency:  Principles supporting and informing the ethical codes pertaining to addiction counselors\, specific knowledge of appropriate ethical codes and laws associated with addictions counseling. 6 Hours\n\nTotal: 40 Hours
