SUMMARY:Regional Health Surveys for Data-driven Decision Making
DESCRIPTION:Local health information is a powerful resource for improving the health of a community. It can highlight problems and suggest potential solutions. It can also guide local action in support of policy changes and improve programs' effectiveness.\n\nAttendees will learn about new\, easier-to-use features of the redesigned Online Analysis and Statistical Information System\, a free web-based tool that gives the public access to health and social sciences data. OASIS users can access various local surveys such as the Community Health Status Survey\, the Child Well-Being Survey and the Pride Personal Drug Use Survey\, whose data can inform policies and programs related to health.\n\nPresenters Mark Carrozza and Michael Topmiller of HealthLandscape\, the developer of OASIS\, will discuss the issues of data availability and the barriers that hinder the use of local health information. They will also demonstrate how to use OASIS to search across surveys for specific topics\, explore survey results and conduct basic statistical analyses.\n\nAt the end of this webinar\, participants will be able to\n\n\n	Identify local community health surveys.\n	Conduct online analysis of local survey data.\n	Download and import data to desktop applications for analysis.
