DESCRIPTION:This September\, the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio turns 70 years strong! Join us as we take a nostalgic trip down memory lane and share some of the exciting things the League has planned to celebrate this huge milestone. We'll also induct new members into our Legendary Lions Society where we salute extraordinary people who have demonstrated a commitment to serving the community. The luncheon will take place on Friday\, February 8\, 2019\, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.\n\n\n\nMake Your Reservation Today!\n\n\n\nWe will also celebrate the 25th anniversary of our Glorifying the Lions Ceremony where we pay homage to those who are often the unsung heroes of the community. Their contributions make a positive impact in their respective communities and beyond. Honorees for the 2019 luncheon are:\n\n	Ralph Brown\n	Patricia Meadows\n	Richard Rosenthal\n	Morleen Rouse\n\nThe Greater Cincinnati Urban League was founded in 1948 as an independent social service agency dedicated to the enhancement of economic opportunities for African Americans in the Tri-State area.  Over the years\, the Greater Cincinnati Urban League has focused its efforts on five initiatives\; training and job placement\, advocacy\, health\, youth development\, and entrepreneurship. In 2013\, the Greater Cincinnati Urban League established the Miami Valley Urban League in Dayton\, Ohio. This new office led to the organization changing its name to the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio (GSO).\n\n\n\nToday\, we're a civil rights organization dedicated to economic empowerment.
