Angel Investing 101
Angel investors play a vital role in providing much-needed early stage capital to promising entrepreneurs. Queen City Angels (QCA) here in Cincinnati has roughly 115 investor members who support entrepreneurs here in the Tri-State, and beyond. Angels devote some of their resources to this asset class, but even more importantly, they coach, mentor and advise entrepreneurs to support their portfolio companies, and start-ups in general. In fact, every year QCA members put in more than 20,000 total hours supporting the ecosystem.
This session will provide an overview of angel investing, how angels and entrepreneurs work together, the motivations for becoming an angel, and typical returns for investing in this asset class (along with time for Q&A). This educational program is open to all who are interested in learning more about the role angel investors play in supporting success for our start-up entrepreneurs.
Featured speaker will be Tony Shipley, founder and chair of Queen City Angels, and chair of the 14,000 member Angel Capital Association. Joining Tony will be several other angel investors and the CEO/founder of one of QCA’s roughly 40 current portfolio companies.
