Our guest this month is Dr. Leila Rodriguez, who will give a presentation about the history of Central American migration. She will discuss different Central American migration streams and how they are shaped by broader social, economic and political policies, especially from the U.S.
Dr. Rodriguez is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Cincinnati. She is also an affiliate of the University's Department of Africana Studies, Department of Sociology, and Latin American Studies Program. In addition, she is a research affiliate of the Central American Population Center at the University of Costa Rica, and of the Observatory of Globalization of EAN University in Colombia..
As always, we will provide time to share information about future events or programs. Feel free to invite anyone who could benefit from our meetings, which take place on the fourth Tuesday of every month with the exception of July and December.
