Carol Armstrong reads Bok’s Giant Leap for Story Tree Time
Carol Armstrong, the wife of the late astronaut Neil Armstrong, is joining Cincinnati Museum Center for Story Tree Time this Friday at 11 a.m. Armstrong will be reading the book Bok’s Giant Leap: One Moon Rock’s Journey Through Time and Space in The Children’s Museum.
Bok’s Giant Leap tells the story of how the Earth and the Moon came to be through the eyes of a Moon rock brought to Earth during the Apollo 11 mission by Neil Armstrong. The book is adapted from a speech Neil gave in 2006 as he was awarded NASA’s Ambassador of Exploration Award at Union Terminal. During the presentation, Neil presented a Moon rock – which he named Bok – to Cincinnati Museum Center as a long-term loan from NASA. Bok is currently on display in the Neil Armstrong Space Exploration Gallery, presented by the Harold C. Schott Foundation, in the Museum of Natural History & Science at Cincinnati Museum Center.
Story Tree Time is included with admission to The Children’s Museum and begins at 11 a.m. Friday, July 15. Bok’s Giant Leap is available for purchase at Cincinnati Museum Center and select local bookstores.
