Cincinnati Juneteenth Festival
Cincinnati’s 32nd annual Juneteenth festival will be in Eden Park on June 15-16.
The family friendly festival, which celebrates the end of American slavery, includes many attractions for all ages. The Festival begins at noon on Saturday with a parade of flags representing the origins and forced destinations of Africans during the trans-Atlantic slave trade that lasted for more than 300 years.
The Festival features two entertainment stages music (blues, jazz, R&B, African dancing), a praise dance exhibition, living history, shopping, health screening, and even mammograms. The Deele will close the evening at 8:00 pm in Seasongood Pavilion.
Kids always have a great time at the Festival, with supervised activities that include horseback riding, balloons, free books, crafts, and making cards for their fathers. Juneteenth continues in Eden Park’s Seasongood Pavilion on Sunday afternoon with a Father’s Day concert. The concert is a relaxing afternoon of inspirational music, with liturgical dance and music groups.
As always, admission—including all entertainment--is free.
