About the Speakers
Justin D. Flamm
As co-chair of Taft’s Employment and Labor Relations practice, Justin handles a wide range of labor and employment matters. His experience includes noncompetition and trade secrets litigation; lawsuits and administrative charges involving race, sex, age, disability, and religious discrimination; wage and hour matters under the Fair Labor Standards Act and various state laws; National Labor Relations Act claims, union elections, and labor arbitration proceedings; military leave; employee handbooks and workplace policies; electronic discovery and recordkeeping issues; and other issues relating to employment relationships.
Sarah Clay Leyshock
With extensive experience in the higher education, hospital, restaurant and staffing industries, Sarah represents employers in all types of matters involving state and federal employment laws.She has significant knowledge of FLSA, FMLA, ADA and Title VII compliance and litigation. She conducts employee workplace investigations; provides personnel, compliance and risk management advice; drafts employment policies and legal documents; litigates (typically defends) on behalf of the employer; and regularly resolves charges of discrimination filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Ohio Civil Rights Commission and the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights.
Conor H. Meeks
Conor has represented employers in a broad range of labor and employment matters, including union organizing and contract negotiations under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) and the Railway Labor Act (RLA), unfair labor practice charges before the NLRB, labor arbitrations, as well as employment discrimination charges before administrative agencies and discrimination lawsuits in both state and federal courts in Kentucky and Ohio. He has also been involved in appealing NLRB determinations to the Federal Circuit Courts. In addition, Conor has represented and advised employers on day-to-day employment matters such as discipline, discharge, handbooks and policies, wage and hour compliance, and in labor disputes such as strikes and lockouts. Conor also has experience in commercial litigation matters involving disputes over intellectual property and trade secrets, as well as enforcement of employee non-compete agreements.
