Level of Course | 100 Beginner
Everyone is a gatekeeper for suicide prevention. You do not have to be a mental health professional to save a life and to have a caring conversation with someone who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts. However, asking the question, “Are you thinking about suicide?” can be especially overwhelming for someone to find themselves asking because of the stigma and misinformation surrounding suicide and suicide prevention. This training will provide participants with the confidence and competence needed when engaging with someone who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts and how to effectively refer them to the appropriate mental health and/or crisis services. Course participants will also be able to ask questions via webinar chat during the Q&A portion of the course.
