Currently, throughout the U.S. opioids are being prescribed as “the'” option for post-surgical pain. However, give the state of opioid addiction, there is a need for more education on the various non-opioid options available for acute pain. Ohio has coalitions represented on this ongoing Initiative generated by CADCA and the national non-profit Choices Matter. This presentation will show how coalitions, patients, communities, elected officials, and the medical community can increase their knowledge regarding pain management and advocate for more post-surgical options that do not involve solely opioids. Course participants will be able to ask questions via webinar chat during the Q&A portion of the course.
