Title: “Screen Time and Health Outcomes”

Abstract: This workshop will focus on screen time by youth and how it impacts decision-making skills, impulse control as well as gambling. The topic will delve into the possible impacts of screen time on physical health for adolescent development.

Objectives:
Participants will be able to:

1. Distinguish between the types of online gaming, gambling, and risk-taking that are available to all ages.
2. Identify warning signs of youth problem gambling behaviors and the appropriate resources available in the State of Ohio.
3. Cite the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) research available about screen time addiction as a diagnosable disorder.

Welcome/Overview of Objectives- 11:30-11:35 (5 min.)
How is screen time defined-11:35-11:45 (10 min.)
Online gaming and gambling- 11:45-12:00 (15 min.)
Warning signs of youth problem gambling/resources available (12:00-12:20) (20 min.) Q&A/Evaluation to complete 12:20-12:30 (10 min.)
