Job Summary:
Assistant to Associate Deans to provide professional administrative support to the Associate Dean for Faculty Excellence & the Associate Dean for Educational Excellence. Performs a variety of complex administrative tasks requiring substantial discretion and independent judgment related to overseeing the daily administrative operations of the Associate Deans.
Duties/Physical Demands:
- The Assistant to the Associate Deans will create internal and external correspondence, correspond on behalf of Associate Deans ensuring deadlines and obligations are fulfilled; provide in-depth research for Associate Deans related, but not limited to, areas such as curriculum review, ad hoc committees, new initiatives, etc.; develop timelines and divisional calendars for faculty affairs processes for Farmer School of Business (Promotion and Tenure, Probationary Faculty Evaluation Packets, Assigned Research Appointments/Faculty Improvement Leaves, FSB academic programs); independently writing drafts of the promotion and tenure responses on behalf of the associate dean; manage meetings and contact with Executive Committee, chairs, and directors, and maintains templates and master lists of faculty in each process; plan and execute orientation for new faculty. Supports the Personnel Manager with data entry, hiring processes, EPAF submissions, and personnel records. Plan meeting preparations that include agendas, briefing materials, coordinating communications; act as reviewer for Associate Dean of Curriculum regarding CIM (a comprehensive catalog system), manage the Associate Deans’ calendars; coordinate with Assistant to the Dean on Dean’s Suite calendaring, projects, and events as needed, and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience or an Associate degree and six years of relevant experience or at least ten years of relevant experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Consideration may be given to candidates with a Bachelor's degree in business or closely related field; four or more years of experience supporting senior executive position(s) or comparable academic position; ability to interact effectively with diverse members of the university community and outside constituencies, and knowledge of Miami University’s systems including BannerWeb, 25 Live, and CIM.
