Xavier University is seeking a Director of the Office of Institutional Research. This position is responsible for the collection, compilation, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of timely and accurate information concerning the characteristics and performance of the University in order to facilitate strategic planning, policy making, and support for accreditation, academic planning, retention initiatives, academic program health, program reviews, student learning, enrollment projections and other processes requiring strategic analysis.
The position will report to the Associate Vice President to the Provost and Chief Academic Officer, the director provides leadership and oversight for institutional research functions, and is responsible for (i) ensuring that institutional informational reporting and analytical needs are being met, (ii) effectively expanding business intelligence and business analytics capabilities, including use of various predictive models and (iii) facilitating the use of institutional information to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
The director works in a highly collaborative manner with other the departments in the University to analyze information needs and design solutions. Some of the main tasks this position is responsible are: supervise Institutional Research staff members, analyze and synthesize quantitative and qualitative data; interpret results, prepare customized reports; coordinate reporting across the university as needed, effectively communicate results to campus constituents, including the President’s Cabinet, selected Board of Trustees committees, and faculty and administrators; participate as staff member in University committees, as well as to ensure that accurate and timely university information is reported to external constituents, such as the U.S. Department of Education, Higher Learning Commission, Ohio Board of Regents, and other external surveys as needed.
