Gateway Community & Technical College invites applications for the Admissions Diversity Recruiter. This full-time staff position will be responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with area high schools in order to increase enrollment of Underrepresented Minorities (URM) at Gateway Community and Technical College (GCTC). The position will facilitate events and activities that produce matriculation to Gateway as freshman students.

Duties:

  • Assist GCTC with meeting enrollment goals by facilitating the recruitment and enrollment of diverse and academically talented candidates. Additionally, the candidate will work with students on the admissions, application, FAFSA, and GCTC enrollment process.
  • Coordinate with the Office of Admissions, Student Engagement, and Retention, and the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to develop, implement, and evaluate programming and recruitment efforts for prospective underrepresented populations.
  • Establish a Gateway presence in Ohio and Kentucky by attending events at local high schools, community agencies, and fostering relationships with counselors while maintaining a presence in their building. 
  • Assist with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion student engagement activities.
  • Assist with additional recruitment events towards matriculation with dual credit and traditional students when needed
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent.
  • 1 - 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong foundation in diversity recruiting, specifically the creation and implementation of strategies and programming to source and recruit from diverse communities in our region.   
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Experience in and understanding of the importance of working with students from diverse populations. 
  • Excellent organizational skills; high attention to detail; independent; self-motivated; able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with many individuals at all levels throughout the internal college environment as well as external business and community partners, representing his/herself in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and, in writing.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under deadlines, and prioritize projects to meet deadlines with high levels of efficiency and accuracy. 
  • Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Radius, and Starfish  

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree, or equivalent.
  • 3 - 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in and understanding of the importance of working with students from diverse populations. 
  • Experience working at the community college level.
