The Audio Video Technician/Coordinator is a year-round exempt Staff position that reports directly to the Director of Information Technology. This position will require the flexibility to work evenings and weekends. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for operating and performing maintenance of technical equipment as well as all systems used in the field of performing arts at St. Xavier. Job functions include setting up and operating audio-video equipment like microphones, projectors, speakers, video monitors, video screens, sound and mixing boards, editing consoles, connecting wires and cables, etc. for live events in multiple locations such as: Stadiums, Gymnasiums, Chapel, etc.
  • Meeting with Event Coordinators to discuss audio, lighting, and video requirements.
  • Coordinate with vendors for additional special event resources and equipment life cycle management.
  • Manage equipment used in sporting events, meetings, seminars, presentations, conferences, large school masses etc. May have to set up equipment like spotlights or other systems for lighting. 
  • Perform installation, and adjustment to electronic equipment, including A/V control systems.
  • Ensure that all equipment is working accurately.
  • Install, adjust, and operate electronic equipment for the purpose of recording, editing and transmitting audio as well as streaming video. 
  • Ensure the equipment and projector work properly for video conferences, presentations or seminars. 
  • Design the layouts of audio-visual equipment. Maintain inventory of audio-visual equipment. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
Additional Duties - IT Support
  • Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance.
  • Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by faculty, staff and students.
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
  • Provide accurate information on IT products or services.
  • Process helpdesk tickets.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications
The Audio Video Technician/Coordinator will be a person who has a dynamic, creative personality, is organized, well-rounded, engaging, and who facilitates growth and collaboration. Additionally, they will:
  • Provide evidence of an ability and commitment to furthering the Jesuit, Catholic mission and identity of the school.
  • Have a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience; bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Show demonstrated track record of success in sound engineering.
