The Robotics Application Engineer works within the Technical Engineering Center (TEC) in developing new products.  

Key accountabilities 

  • Collaboration in a development-related application team. Work directly with design team in Germany to develop and create requirements for ongoing development projects.
  • Development of standardized robotics solutions (Hardware and Software) with customers and sales. Development of new application fields for Festo robotics components and system solutions.
  • Responsible for planning, project planning and implementation of pilot applications until customer acceptance or production readiness
  • On-site commissioning at (pilot) customer sites
  • Responsible for developing target application requirements in close collaboration with Product Management, Business Development and Sales.
  • Development of new concepts and solutions, as well as testing and application of new technologies - especially in the fields of sensor technology/image processing.

 Knowledge and Experience

  • Completed studies in the field of automation technology, robotics, mechatronics, computer science or similar.
  • Experience in the use of industrial robots or cobots
  • Experience in programming robots
  • Experience with image processing and sensor technology
  • Experience in PLC programming, especially CoDeSys
  • Knowledge in the field of robotics safety
  • Desirable: use of HMI methods 2-4.
  • Knowledge of programming with high-level or scripting languages desirable (e.g. Python, C++)
  • Willingness to travel on business, including abroad. (max 20 %)
