CEO, Habitat for Humanity
JOB SUMMARY:
The CEO will report to the Board of Directors and lead the execution of the strategic plan. Direct reports include the CFO, Vice President of Development & Communications, Director of Construction, ReStore Director, Director of Homeowner Services, and the Director of Human Resources.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Strategic leadership: Drive the execution of the strategic plan and position the organization for long-term success by identifying opportunities for expansion of needed services
Financial leadership: Provide stewardship of the organization’s financial health
Staff leadership and development: Attract, develop, and retain a high performing leadership team; empower them to “own” key initiatives
Community engagement: Be the face of the organization with diverse homebuyers, Board members, funders, volunteers, and community partners
Fundraising: Partner with the Development team to broaden sources of funding from grants, corporate sponsorships, individual giving, and special events
Board cultivation and development: Engage Board members to leverage their talents and networks to further the organization’s mission and community impact
Creative Development and Financing: Collaborate with the CFO and banking partners toIdentify new alternatives for home financing and development activity based on market opportunities
Volunteer Engagement: Work with staff to recruit and engage volunteers
Equity and Inclusion: Create an inclusive culture that reflects the diversity of the population served and provides opportunities for staff at all levels
Operational Excellence: Support the efforts of the operations staff around recruiting and retention of staff as well as addressing supply chain challenges
Thought Leadership/Advocacy: Earn a seat at the table for important community conversations around the availability of affordable housing
IDEAL CANDIDATES’ QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- An authentic connection the mission of Habitat for Humanity
- A track record of leading the strategic direction and growth of an organization
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred
- A demonstrated commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment
- Experience partnering with a non-profit Board
- Success working with a development team to raise funds for a non-profit organization
- Evidence of attracting, developing, and empowering a strong leadership team
- P&L responsibility at a minimum of $5m is strongly preferred
- Evidence of strong relationships across public, nonprofit, and private sectors within Cincinnati is preferred.
- Demonstrated success partnering with other nonprofit organizations toward a common purpose
- Home construction/real estate development experience a plus
