Actuarial Intern (Remote, On-site or Hybrid)

What you will be doing

The Actuarial Intern will be exposed to many aspects of the company's day-to-day activities, especially how the day-to-day operations of a financial service company work.

Interns will assist with varying projects within such areas as Enterprise Risk Management, Product Management, or Corporate Actuarial Financial Reporting.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Conducting data manipulation, organization and analysis
  • Documenting and verifying factors used in computations and actuarial models
  • Running models and analyzing output for consistency and reasonableness
  • Assisting with updating, improving, and automating reports, spreadsheets and documentation
  • Developing and using calculation tools in support of pricing and valuation
  • Depending on area, developing rate filings, in-force files and experience study results
  • Depending on area, assist in the determination of premiums, benefits and pricing levels
  • Developing core skill areas such as analytical and technical skills, leadership, communication, initiative and business/organizational knowledge within Constellation, the actuarial community and the financial services industry

    Required:

    • Major in actuarial science or other relevant ?nancial/mathematical ?eld of study
    • Completed at least one SOA exam
    • Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Access and Word
    • Initiative, ability to work independently, meeting deadlines and interacting professionally with all contacts

    Preferred:

    • Programming courses or skills (e.g. VBA, Python, R)
    • Related work experience including internships and co-ops

    About the internship:

    • Twelve-week program starting May 2024
    • Full Time (Monday -- Friday 8:15 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m.)

    Hiring Range Minimum
    $44,000.00
    Hiring Range Maximum
    $55,000.00

    Compensation Statement
    Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation, including annual incentive programs.
