About the Department of Food Services
Food Services is a part of the Campus Services Department under the Administration & Finance Division. Food Services oversee food services contracts for services that include meal plan dining, retail dining, catering services, and convenience stores.
Job Overview
The focus of this position is contract compliance with the university's Food Services agreements. Areas of emphasis include routine food safety audits, communicating with students and parents, compiling and tracking data, and assisting with project management.
Typical workday hours for this role will be 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. (Mon – Fri). This schedule is designed to provide evening coverage for quality assurance audits of dinner service on campus. Limited weekend or extended evening work may be required.
Essential Functions
- Conduct and document facility reviews in support of upholding the board of health standards and managing food services agreements.
- Compile and summarize documentation of feedback received regarding the food services program. Perform program needs assessment and make recommendations.
- Manage customer communications with meal plan holders including reviewing and responding to emails, updating, and maintaining the food services website, and creating and distributing email blast communications.
- Organize and facilitate monthly Food Focus Group meetings.
- Assist in maintaining food services facilities through arranging deep cleaning and other maintenance support projects with outside vendors.
- Assist in project management of new initiatives in Food Services.
- Assist in compiling data and benchmarking reports.
- Approve and monitor expenditures, prepare budget requests, and financial reports.
- Act as liaison to internal departments, external entities, and community organizations.
- May prepare and edit reports and/or newsletters and develop publication materials.
- May provide direct supervision to student staff.
- Perform related duties based on departmental need.
Required Education
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience
- Three (3) years of relevant experience
Additional Qualifications Considered
- ServSafe certfication will be required within in the first year of employment.
