Job Summary:
Electrical & Computer Engineering: Program Coordinator to manage Ohio’s Southwest (SW) 5G/wireless regional hub for workforce development. The purpose of the SW regional hub is to help expand the efforts of Ohio’s Broadband and 5G Sector partnerships locally in Southwest Ohio. The appointment will start Fall of 2023. The salary will be competitive and the position is renewable, contingent on performance and funding.
Duties/Physical Demands:
- The duties of the program coordinator include: developing outreach modules specifically focused on 5G and Broadband, attend 5G and Broadband outreach and recruiting events in Southwest Ohio to encourage students and adults to pursue a career in 5G and Broadband, represent Miami University and the SW Ohio Node at career fairs, community events, etc., and manage the lab associated with the 5G and Broadband project. The program coordinator will also have responsibility for the administration for the grant, such as: draft update reports to the State of Ohio, partner organizations, the University, and as requested; attend all SW Ohio Node meetings with project stakeholders; record minutes and action items for all meetings; follow-up on action items with stakeholders to ensure the project timelines are met; compile updates from all project stakeholders; develop, update, maintain, and report out the project updates/reports and the project timeline (Gantt chart); interface with all project partners via phone calls, emails, virtual meetings, and in-person meeting; and develop websites to recruit students and promote the program.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Required: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field by date of appointment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Consideration may be given to candidates with teaching, research, or industry experience related to telecommunications. People with a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field are also encouraged to apply.
