Job Summary:
The Associate Vice President of Advancement, Operations Management for the Division of University Advancement reports to the Vice President for University Advancement. In addition to taking on projects delegated by the VP, including responsibility for Advancement-wide initiatives, the Associate Vice President of Advancement, Operations Management for the Division of University Advancement will direct and accelerate the work of the VP while building and strengthening ties with other departments within the university. This position is a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders working with the Vice President for University Advancement.
They will coordinate, track, and manage to completion all work and processes that involve theVice President and their office, many of which are confidential in nature and involve some of the most senior members of the University community, both internal and external. This person will
be required to work flexible hours and respond in a timely and professional manner to requests and assigned tasks.

Duties/Physical Demands:
- Serve as a senior member of the Division of University Advancement and serve on the Vice President's senior management team
- Responsible for organizing, scheduling, coordinating and managing the agendas for Management Team meetings.
- Approve payroll, TERs, and other procedural forms of senior members of the management team
- In the absence of the VP of UA, the Associate Vice President of Advancement, Operations Management will represent the Division of UA at appropriate meetings, conferences, and presentations.
- Manage a defined and agreed upon portfolio of highly rated prospects
- Travel extensively to Oxford, elsewhere in the US and abroad where large concentrations of Miami alumni and prospects reside
- Manage the MUDEC Campaign and serve as chief UA liaison to MUDEC prospects and donors
- Working with the VP for University Advancement, the AVP of UA, Operations Management will advance strategic priorities and the direction of the Division
- In consultation with the VP for UA, will serve to make decisions and manage the progress of goals and objectives defined by the Office of the President, the Foundation Board of Directors, and the BOT.
- Responsible for coordinating all UA reports to BOT and Foundation Board meetings from the VP for UA
- Oversee the coordination and submission of annual goals and evaluations for all members of the Senior Management team of UA.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree
- 10 years of Advancement experience in an educational setting
- Extensive successful management experience
- Demonstrated project management experience

- Experience working in cooperative and collaborative environments
- Demonstrated experience working across an organization from volunteers to board members to executive university leadership
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to travel
- Occasional evenings & weekends required
- Proficiency with general computing applications (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), calendar applications, and email/communications applications
- Demonstrated problem-solving and organizational skills
- Discretion, sound judgement and initiative
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities, to solve problems and meet challenging, ambitious and changing priorities/deadlines
- Ability to work independently and proactively exhibiting self-reliance and dependability
