Job Title: English Language Center Specialist

Job Summary:
English Language Center (ELC) Specialist provides specialized instruction and support for the purposes of developing MUR-ELC Program participants’ academic English skill sets to be successful in the academic and business environments of higher education institutes and global corporations, respectively. Being a positive team player is an essential element of the position. The ELC Specialist is expected to be creative, innovative, and entrepreneurial to position the ELC as a market leader.
 

Duties/Physical Demands:

  • The ELC Specialist will: Plan, organize, and provide instruction in up to 2 classes for academic terms (15 hrs.) in only the English language to meet the MUR-ELC Program curriculum goals; participates in the day-to-day operations of the ELC; engages in the development and implementation of MUR-ELC orientations of new cohorts (generally, spring, summer, and fall).

Minimum Qualifications:
Required: Master’s degree in TESOL (or related field) or a bachelor’s degree plus two of the following education and experience:

  • Master’s degree (specific major is not required);
  • TEFL or TESOL certificate (120 hours);
  • ESL/ELL classroom/international experience;
  • Experience traveling, living, studying, or teaching in a foreign country;
  • Experience developing and publishing ESL/educational related materials;
  • Experience teaching online or use of LMS platforms in education courses;
  • Experience working with, educating, leading young learners and adults from diverse backgrounds.
  • Position not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.
