Job Summary:
The Mental Health Clinician performs the duties of a behavioral health clinician, providing generalist clinical services to college students, and consultation services to faculty, staff, students and parents/families, and provides psycho-educational outreach and programming services. This position will work on the Miami University Regional Campuses (Middletown, OH and Hamilton, OH).

Duties/Physical Demands:

  • The Mental Health Clinician provides multi-culturally informed generalist mental health counseling services, including general mental health, substance use, and individual and group counseling and psychotherapy to Miami University students presenting with a wide range of mental health concerns; Maintains clinical records and provides clinical documentation and communication with external practitioners as necessary for ethical clinical treatment; Intervenes in crisis and emergency situations of a mental health nature with students; Provides psycho-educational programming to various groups within the university community including students, faculty, and staff; Consults with families, faculty, staff and other professionals regarding the mental health needs of students; Attends and participates in clinical staff meetings and consultations; Assumes responsibility for other administrative duties as assigned including possibly serving on departmental, divisional, and university committees.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in an appropriate accredited mental health training program such as social work, mental health counseling, or psychology or a closely related field. Dependently licensed or licensed eligible in Ohio within one’s field of training.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Consideration may be given to candidates with specific training and experience providing mental health services to a university student population. Independently licensed in Ohio within one’s field of training.
