Position Overview
We are seeking a Human Resources and Payroll Generalist for our Manufacturing operations. This role is key to maintaining the operations and
ensuring employees are in a safety-first work environment with opportunities for development.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll:
- Check and update time & attendance system, notifying management of attendance
- Maintain Employee information in an external payroll processing system
- New Hire Procedures: set up in Payroll system, enter raises in planner, create personnel folder, send for drug testing, and send timecard to supervisor * Process weekly payroll, enter wage garnishments, calculate attendance bonus
- Maintain employee insurance information
- Manage employee payroll profiles and maintain insurance information
- Distribute performance and rate evaluations to supervisors for employee reviews
- Process employment verification requests
Human Resources:
- Assist with screening applicants, conduct interviews of potential candidates, and complete background and reference checks * Document disciplinary warnings to personnel for supervisors
- Handle Workers Compensation Claims in tandem with our BWC vendor
- Address Health and Dental issues for employees
- Process unemployment claims
- Maintenance of vacation schedules, drug testing schedule and others
- Distribute 401(k) applications to eligible employees
- Maintain OSHA logs and keep up to date on BWC classes and filings
- Maintain company bulletin boards in an up to date and legal compliance manner
Requirements
- A SHRM degree, certificate, or similar advanced education
- Outgoing personality with good time management skills
- Ability in handling confidential information
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and web-based software platforms
- Outside payroll processing experience is a plus
- Manufacturing experience and Spanish speaking a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a proactive work ethic

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
