POSITION SUMMARY
The Cincinnati Art Museum has a full-time, management opportunity as a Technology Manager in the Information Technology Department.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Technology Manager is a “hands on” department head responsible for the museum network infrastructure, helpdesk, and all technology services provided to the museum.  This position reports to corporate management and will manage IT staff and vendors.

  • The successful candidate will be stable, experienced, and accountable – while being able to clearly discuss technology with both technical and non-technical people.  
  • Likewise, this candidate must have project management experience, and able to strategically engineer systems for highly available, modern, and secure information technologies – including but not limited to phone systems, business continuity/disaster recovery, Windows and MAC end user devices, virtual servers, data storage, networked printing, point of sale systems, security camera systems, web & application servers, and cyber security across a hybrid IT environment.  
  • In addition, this candidate will be responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of any technology used in the museum galleries – including but not limited to high end projectors, interactives, digital signage, or electronics utilized as components of permanent or temporary exhibitions.  
  • This candidate will be the subject matter expert for all things technology related, working inter-departmentally to construct and implement projects that align with the Cincinnati Art Museum’s mission statement.   
  • This candidate will be proactive to the technical education needs of museum staff, providing an IT onboarding for all new museum staff and on-going training opportunities – with annual PCI compliance recertification as needed.
 
REQUIREMENTS
Applicant must have a Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field and at least five (6) years of progressive responsibility in information technology which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
Experience with following
  1. Coaching and supervising technical IT staff
  2. Forecasting, budgets, and procurement
  3. Vendor Management
  4. VMWare and datastores
  5. Web & Application server management
  6. Windows Domain management
  7. VOIP phone systems
  8. Managed print services
  9. Microsoft 365 – including Teams, Power Automate, and Power Apps
  10. Network routing, switching, and firewalls
  11. WAN, LAN, & WLAN connectivity 
  12. PCI/DSS and NIST Cybersecurity Framework
 
Essential Skills for this position
  • The Technology Manager must have good analytical and problem-solving skills, in addition to expert knowledge of computer hardware, software applications, operating systems, database systems, web content management, internet servers and networks. 
  • They must have good communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management in high-pressure situations. 
  • The Technology Manager must be flexible and decisive with good leadership ability. 
  • Knowledge of budgeting, training, word processing and spreadsheets are needed, along with the ability to make presentations.
