Supply Chain Manager

We have a great opportunity for a Supply Chain Manager to join Michelman.  The Supply Chain function covers a wide area of activity in Michelman, from planning and sourcing materials to delivery of finished products and interfacing with customers.  You will be responsible for the overall customer experience and cost & workflow optimization.

Primary Responsibilities

General

  • Lead and manage the supply chain teams in Americas region including Procurement, Customer Service, Planning, Warehousing and Logistics
  • Execute with excellence the global supply chain and procurement vision and strategy
  • Reinforce customer intimacy, lead regional S&OP, and enhance Service Level Offering
  • Manage inventory of raw materials and finished goods in own and third parties’ warehouses to optimize working capital
  • Continually strive to streamline operation to meet customers’ satisfaction and maintain accuracy of all orders in the system
  • Create and manage supply chain department budgets
  • Interface with other regional and global functional teams in procurement, manufacturing and supply chain
  • Lead/Participate in supply related projects
  • Key performance measures:
    • On-time and In-full
    • Cost of Goods Sold
    • Total Supply Chain Cost
    • Inventory Days on Hand

Procurement

  • Work with Procurement Manager and team to generate cost savings and enable security of supply in collaboration with technology and sales and deliver results in these areas
  • Manage budget for procurements activities and ensure that cost and savings objectives are met
  • Collaborate with Technology in sourcing/localizing materials for replacement and future growth opportunities
  • Ensure competent quality execution of all regular procurement activities

Customer Service

  • Deliver appropriate customer service for the defined customer segmentation
  • Strive to make Michelman easy-to-do business with

S&OP

  • Owner of the regional S&OP process including the demand, supply and combined reviews
  • Support long and short-range business plans and goals

Planning and New Product Introductions

  • Drive utilization of appropriate planning tools and effective use of systems including JDE, TM-1 and Infor Advanced Scheduling
  • Owner of master data for planning activities and review of First Manufactured Batches (FMB)
  • Task owner and reviewer for supply chain functions for C2C projects

Warehousing and Logistics

  • Manage all assigned region warehouse activities including inbound receiving and outbound shipping
  • Develop and maintain effective collaboration with 3PL, ensure effective support of our operations requirements, KPIs and meeting of business targets
  • Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations regarding supply chain operations such as transportation, including hazardous materials, shipping management & others
  • Resolve any legal issues pertaining to transportation/distribution; ensure Supply Chain Department complies with ISO requirements

Inventory Management

  • Responsible for overseeing the inventory management process including cycle counting, defining departmental strategies for appropriate inventory levels, timing supply to production, eliminating obsolete and off-spec material, and reduce aging material

Other

  • Able to travel by car and plane to visit customers and facilities
  • Safely lift up to 25 lbs and frequently bending
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time

Critical Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Strong data management skills using applications like JD Edwards, Cognos TM1, Power BI, data warehouse, Excel, SQL and other data base applications
  • Strong bias for action and acting with a sense of urgency
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in standard business office software
  • Proven ability to think independently and handle multiple projects through to completion
  • Record of successfully collaborating with and influencing senior management and peers
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff
  • Demonstrated independent work initiative, sound judgment, diplomacy, analytical ability and professional demeanour
  • Able to make effective presentations to diverse groups
  • Able to perform financial calculations, create and manage budgets

 Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Supply Chain, Operations or related field required
  • At least 8 years of experience in supply chain and sourcing
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • APICS or other certifications are a plus
