Definition and Primary Objective:
Provides parent education, educational activities, and direct casework assistance to families through Every Child Succeeds Program. Works with Spanish and English-Speaking families prenatally to age three, in their home with the objective of creating a safe and healthy environment for the child, as well as preparing the child for academic success.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepares a plan for future service delivery based upon analysis and interpretations of collected data.
- Documents into multiple web-based systems all observed child development and family interactions, as well as documentation of completed forms and inventories.
- In addition, documentation of all efforts to reach the family and all contacts with the family and contact with professionals on behalf of the family should be entered as well.
- Attends all team meetings, necessary trainings, agency meetings, and supervision.
- Posts weekly schedule with supervisor, signs in and out of the building, maintains cell phone minutes within allowed time.
- Meets weekly with supervisor, setting aside at least 1 ½ hours for clinical supervision.
- Should supervision be missed, Family Education Support Specialist and supervisor will coordinate to reschedule.
- Family Education Support Specialist will review clients on an individual basis with supervisor both formally and informally.
- Family Education Support Specialist will identify service level of each client to allow for case weighting to be completed.
- Family Education Support Specialist will do brainstorming and follow-up on referrals. Family Education Support Specialist will work with clients to allow for shadow visits with supervisor to take place.
Minimum Education, Experience and Other Skill Requirements:
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in education, social work or related field from an accredited college or university (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Undergraduate specialization in social work or two years of experience in a social work agency required. Previous home visiting or experience working with children birth to three preferred. Valid driver’s license is mandatory.
Must possess minimum technical skills including familiarity with Microsoft Windows and ability to use standard Microsoft Office applications.
Work Environment:
Exposed to a combination of office, school, and mental health treatment environments. Exposed to children with behavior problems. May be exposed to shouting and clients who may be verbally and physically aggressive. May be exposed to blood or vomit and bodily fluids.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend and lift objects of up to 50 pounds. Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely in changing weather conditions required.
