The Senior Philanthropic Strategies Advisor works closely with the Director, Professional Advisor Relations to build relationships with estate planning attorneys, corporate attorneys, accountants, financial planners, wealth managers, investment managers and trust officers (collectively, “Professional Advisors”) throughout the GCF service area, and also directly with prospective clients for GCF For Business.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Works with the Director, Professional Advisor Relations to build relationships with local estate planning attorneys, corporate attorneys, accountants, financial planners, investment managers and trust officers.
- Promotes charitable giving strategies, through meetings and group presentations, sharing information about GCF that professional advisors can share with their high net worth clients.
- Presentation topics include charitable funds for community impact, tax savings, family philanthropy and legacy planning.
- Promotes GCF for Business with prospective business clients that may be interested in developing a strategy around their corporate, family or personal giving.
- Conducts research and develops, implements engagement strategies and evaluates new business relationships to advance philanthropy in our community
- Collaborates with Marketing and Philanthropic Partnership teams to create and implement marketing strategy for GCF for Business and Private Foundation Services
- Collaborates with Marketing Department to develop marketing materials and strategy specific to professional advisors of high net worth families and individuals
- Plans and executes educational and networking activities for professional advisors
- Oversees Professional Advisor recognition and appreciation activities.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience working in a nonprofit or business
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a field related to the job such as marketing, legal or financial services, wealth management, or non-profit fundraising
- Preference for JD, CPA, CFP, CFRE or CAP designation
- Comfort working with high-net-worth individuals and families and their professional advisors, including facilitating conversations around philanthropy and making presentations
- Preferred knowledge of any of the following: marketing to professional advisors, business succession planning, estate planning, tax planning, and charitable gift planning
- A passion for philanthropy, equity, and the betterment of society as a whole and specifically the Greater Cincinnati region.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including but not limited to oral and written communication, writing and editing
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving, trouble shooting and decision-making capabilities.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, planning, coordination and follow up.
- Ability to make judgments and complete assignments independently, professionally, efficiently, and in a timely manner.
- Experience with Excel, Microsoft Word, Windows, Office and Salesforce a plus.

- Demonstrates sense of humor, creativity, growth mindset and has an appreciation of the role of philanthropy in building community.
Wages are negotiable within the competitive salary range set by GCF. The ranges have been established based on organization, industry and national standards. Desired salary expectations will be discussed during the interview process.
