Job Title: Manager of Special Event Operations
Reports To: Senior Manager of Special Events Sales and Operations
FLSA: Salary/Non-Exempt
 
 Job Purpose: 
Coordinate, support and activate Special Events including non-baseball and internal events as well as provide administrative support to the department.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate room set up and break down for all events, fulfilling contracts to specifications.
  • Maintain positive and open communication and collaboration between the Cincinnati Reds, DNC, SBM, and customers.
  • Act as liaison between third party vendors in order to obtain additional nontraditional revenues for the Cincinnati Reds.
  • Manage all internal meeting requests on the Reds (staff) portal. This includes approving date requests, building event(s) in online managing system and execute setup/AV needs for the internal customer.
  • Coordinate and execute all game day meetings in addition to assigned non-game day meetings. 
  • Coordinate and work events as needed in the off-season, non-game days and during the busy holiday seasons. 
  • Provide detailed customer support throughout the entire planning process to customers.
  • Manage, schedule, and oversee part-time event staff.
  • Manage the parking calendar for Special Events, attend monthly parking meetings and communicate to team.
  • Perform elated duties and special projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to coordinate meetings and social events, which includes obtaining detailed information from customers and communicating to team.
  • Ability to assist and manage a diverse group of customers. 
  • Candidate must be out-going and have exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload. 
  • Candidate must have knowledge of office administrative procedures and knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment and computer software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point, Adobe Illustrator, etc.
  • Candidate must be able to handle sensitive and confidential situations as well as demonstrate poise, tact and diplomacy.
  • Work requires continual attention to detail and the ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Work requires an excellent command of the English language.

Work Environment:
  • Work is performed in a typical interior/office work environment however employee may have “game-day” responsibilities where the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
  • Hours may include nights, weekends and holidays, long hours are normal.
