About Us

Affordable Language Services is one of the largest, most respected interpretation and translation service providers in Greater Cincinnati. The firm was founded on volunteerism, a sense of community and desire to equalize all parties.

Our founders, Lynn and Gary Elfers, moved to Costa Rica 17 years ago to complete volunteer work, and overcame cultural and lingual barriers during their years living there, which translated into the thriving business of today.

Affordable Language Services, dedication to bettering the interpretation and translation industry, has been instrumental in bringing a nationally renowned training program to Cincinnati for independent interpreters called Bridging the Gap. Since 2004, the program has improved the interpretation quality in the region with the graduation of more than 300 professionals.
