Sláinte! Irish cheer and plenty 'o green beer are on deck to welcome spring events back to Fountain Square's plaza! Celebrate St. Patrick's Day Weekend with a party that's as good as gold. The festivities on Saturday and Sunday will feature live Celtic rock bands taking over the Fifth Third Bank Center Stage starting at 12PM each day, a variety of Irish-themed bites, and unforgettable free family fun! Just a pop-fly down the event calendar, the Fountain District is swinging back into baseball season as Opening Day takes over the city on March 27! Once again, Fountain Square is at the heart of the action, hosting the 20th Annual Rally on the Square from 10AM to 2PM. Fans will be cheering for delicious food from local vendors, live entertainment, family-friendly activities, and special appearances from team mascots and local celebrities. Around 12:30PM, the time-honored Findlay Market Opening Day Parade will arrive on Fifth Street and pass through the Fountain District. For those not headed to the stadium, you can catch the game on Fountain Square's LED board or any one of the Fountain District's lively sports bars, including Vintage on Race and Knockback Nats. Temperatures are the only thing on the rise in the Fountain District. Hearts will be warming at The Aronoff Center when the inspiring Broadway hit, Come from Away, lands on stage beginning March 18. Creativity is always blooming at 21c Museum Hotel! On Friday, March 21, join the museum team for a Sip & Tourevent featuring a guided tour through the current exhibition and delicious cocktails inspired by the artwork on display. This month’s cocktail, inspired by the artwork ‘After América (femmage landscape) (Ana) 2018,’ is named ‘Ladies’ in recognition of Women's History Month.
‘Ladies’ incorporates a female distilled tequila, Mijenta, to pay homage to the imagery of the Latin American female figure depicted in Carolyn Castaño’s artwork. 21c mixologists selected guava and cacao to represent produce from the artist's native Colombia.
