Cincinnati, here we go—the summer heat’s got nothing on the firestorm coming Saturday as FC Cincinnati hosts the Columbus Crew in the Hell Is Real derby at TQL Stadium. The bi-annual clash of Ohio clubs is truly unique in Major League Soccer and always promises to be the most intense and entertaining matchup of any given match week. The 18th all-time edition of the Hell is Real battle promises intensity, tradition, and a memorable fan experience in and out of the stadium. Washington Park is the place to be to ignite your match-day energy with plenty of free and family-friendly activities beginning at 4 PM, including live music from the Jet Pack Academy Band, a spicy wing-eating challenge, fire performers, airbrush and balloon art, and so much more! Ticket-holding fans are encouraged to wear orange to help Orange Out the stadium and turn up the heat on our fiercest rivals. As always, FC Cincinnati's official Pub Partners across downtown are participating in pre-match rituals and showing the game—check out Frankie's Sips and Savories, Low Spark, or any of the dozens of partners. Kickoff is at 7:30PM.
We don't usually say this, but this weekend gets a pass…it's time to make some noise for (and in) the library! All weekend long, the Downtown Main Library is celebrating their one-year reopening anniversary with activities for bookworms of all ages. Explore the Main Library’s renovated building while taking in community, local art, culture, and history. Grab a bite to eat at Kabobske Mediterranean or cool down at Snowie Shaved Ice. Special events include a MadCap Puppets performance and a teen/tween hip-hop dance class with Elementz on Saturday and a Skate Downtown Cincy demonstration and Cincinnati Books Arts panel discussion on Sunday. It’s time to get lit(erary)!
On Sunday, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony & Ying Yang Twins are joining musical forces for an epic night of hip-hop nostalgia on the Hard Rock Cincinnati Lawn starting at 6PM. From the smooth, rapid-fire flow of “Tha Crossroads” to the club-shaking energy of “Get Low,” these iconic artists are bringing decades of hits, hype, and high energy to the mic. Hard Rock's general admission outdoor venue creates an intimate experience for music lovers and artists alike. Patrons must be 21 or over to attend the show, and tickets are available for purchase online.
