In the words of this week's most topical bride-to-be… “August slipped away into a moment in time…” Make the most of the final few August days and the long weekend downtown! Fall feels are in the air and on their way to Washington Park, but not before we get to soak in the First Financial Summer Series finales! Tonight, Roots Revival —the fan-favorite bluegrass series — wraps a fantastic season with the musical stylings of Ben Knight & Willy Tea Taylor at the bandstand from 6 PM to 9 PM. Tomorrow night, Saxtone closes out 13 electrifying weeks of Friday Flow, presented by P&G, starting at 6 PM. And Sunday, OTR Performs will leave us with some laughs when ComedySportz — Improv Cincinnati’s newest show, featuring two teams going head-to-head in fast-paced, family-friendly improv comedy games — takes the main stage. All events are free and open to the public.
Tomorrow, roll out to Sawyer Point for the last Teen Skate of the summer, starting at 6 PM! Free festivities include roller skating, dancing, summer treats, art-making, and music by DJ V Vibez. Still getting comfortable on wheels? No problem! From 6 to 7 PM, join in skate practice with an instructor from D. Morton Skate Nation before cruising through the rest of the night. Friday's theme is Jersey Night, so bust out your new school digs or represent your favorite sports team! This event is intended for teens age 13 and older. Admission and skate rental are free when you present your ID!
There's nothing like a heated Midwest rivalry to spice up the hunt for Reds October! Great American Ball Park is home base for a three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals — a high-stakes matchup that could shake up the National League's Central standings. With young stars lighting it up in Cincy and the Cards clinging to hope, expect fastballs, fireworks, bobbleheads, and even some Harry Potter-themedfun! Tickets are available for all weekend games online!
End your holiday weekend on the sparkliest of notes at the most anticipated pyrotechnic display of the season — Cincinnati’s annual Riverfest and Western & Southern/WEBN Fireworks! The end-of-summer celebration takes over Yeatman’s Cove and Sawyer Point on Sunday, starting at 3 PM with music, food, and family fun. The festivities culminate in a spectacular fireworks show, synced to WEBN’s accompanying themed soundtrack. Find Riverfest details, plus event do’s and don’ts, at WEBN’s FAQ page.
