This painting represents Cynthia and Frank's love of their heritage and community in Mexico and Cincinnati.
It was dedicated in 2021 to Cincinnati's Hispanic-American Community from the Cynthia Ellis Stewart and Frank Hale Stewart family.

Diego Rivera. Mexican Artist 1886-1957
This extraordinary original painting is by Diego Rivera, whom many consider Mexico’s greatest artist of all time. It is given to Cincinnati’s Hispanic Community by Cynthia Ellis Stewart and her husband, Frank Hale Stewart. While they spent their adult lives deeply engaged in the Cincinnati community, both had deep roots in Mexico.
Frank Stewart’s father was Frank Goodrich. The latter graduated from the University of Virginia Law School during the Great Depression and moved to Mexico to form the law firm of Goodrich, Riquelme y Asociado, which is still in business today. Frank Goodrich tragically died at age 29, but not before marrying and having a son born in Mexico City, Frank Hale Stewart. Raised by his mother and stepfather, whose name he took, Frank Stewart graduated from Harvard College and then followed his father to the University of Virginia Law School, graduating in 1957. From there, he immediately married Cynthia Ellis in Mexico City, and they then settled in Cincinnati, Frank joining the law firm of Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP. During his distinguished career as an employment law practitioner, he also served as Chairman of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra as but one of his many community achievements in Cincinnati.
Cynthia Ellis Stewart was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Ellis. He was an international businessman who helped Ford, General Motors, and Bristol-Myers, among others, develop their Latin American operations. Cynthia, like Frank, was born and raised in Mexico City. Growing up in Mexico, she and Frank Stewart first met as young children. When they grew up, they were married in 1957 in Mexico City. As Frank pursued his legal career in Cincinnati, Cynthia taught Spanish to Cincinnati’s business leaders to better connect Cynthia and Frank’s beloved Mexico with their equally beloved Cincinnati.
This painting represents Cynthia and Frank’s love of their heritage and of their community, both in Mexico and Cincinnati.
Dedicated in 2021 to Cincinnati’s Hispanic-American Community from the family of Cynthia Ellis Stewart and Frank Hale Stewart.
