Let Your Voice Be Heard: Attend State Alzheimer's and Dementia Task Force Listening Sessions

Help Chart the Future of Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support in Ohio

This month, residents from all over Ohio will have an opportunity to provide critical input to members of the Ohio Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias Task Force as the Task Force formulates recommendations that will form Ohio’s first state Alzheimer’s Plan.

The Task Force, which was appointed by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, is charged with building a plan that will be the hallmark of Ohio’s strategic response to the impact of Alzheimer’s and dementia, a growing public health crisis that impacts 220,000 Ohioans ages 65 and older.

A series of in-person and virtual listening sessions have been scheduled around the state to hear from people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, their caregivers, and those working in related fields. Last week, the Task Force held the first in-person sessions in Northeast Ohio. If individuals missed those sessions, virtual sessions are available.

The goal is for Ohioans to offer input about services and additional support needed for those living with dementia.

Your voice is critically important in this process.

I encourage everyone who can to attend one of the sessions listed below and to provide comments you think could be helpful, so the Task Force understands all the devastating impacts Alzheimer’s brings, but also the opportunities for early detection, diagnosis, and enhanced support.
