How to make an impact this holiday season

Every year, the holiday season is a time of joy and hope, as we come together with our loved ones to celebrate.

But for many families, this year’s celebration may look a little different. Now more than ever, people across the country and around the world need our support.

This holiday season, in an effort to spread comfort, joy, and hope to those in need, we’re launching our Holiday Giving Drive.

We’ve set an ambitious goal of 3,500 gifts by December 23 to provide support to struggling families whose lives have been turned upside down by unexpected emergencies. Your gift today can go a long way for those who lack the comforts many of us associate with the holiday season. You can make a difference, Alfonso.

Will you be one of the first to help us reach our Holiday Giving Drive goal?

Choose from these most needed gifts:

  • $50 Blood services - Help ensure that the life-saving gift of blood and blood products will be available and as safe as possible whenever and wherever it is needed.
  • $125 Emergency kit for 1 family - Emergency kits for families affected by international disasters, including hygiene supplies, blankets, tarps, water containers, and more.
  • $250 Hot meals for 25 people - Hot meals provide comfort and strength during a disaster. You can make sure no family goes hungry after disaster strikes, providing nourishing meals, snacks, and drinks.
  • $500 Full day of emergency shelter for 10 people - You can provide a safe place to sleep, hot food, comfort, and support for families who’ve been forced to leave their homes because of a disaster.
The American Red Cross is proud to be there for people in need during their darkest moments — this has been especially true in 2020. Our work to support our communities through their challenges is only possible because of your generosity. Right now, you can make a difference by providing a family with the gift they need most.

In a holiday season unlike any before, I’m so grateful that we have a community that shows up for each other and for the people most in need.
