Upcoming gallery will focus on body systems, health, innovations and health care
CINCINNATI – Cincinnati Museum Center (CMC) announced today a naming rights sponsorship with Mayfield Brain & Spine for an upcoming gallery focused on biology, technology and workforce development. The sponsorship provides significant support to the new gallery that will be a permanent addition to CMC’s Museum of Natural History & Science. The gallery is currently in the final stages of development and beginning production, with an opening date set for summer 2024.
“We’re so grateful for Mayfield Brain & Spine’s support that is helping make this new gallery a reality,” said Elizabeth Pierce, president & CEO of Cincinnati Museum Center. “They share our passion for educating the next generation of healthy individuals and will inspire future health care and technology professionals. Together, we will demonstrate that where healthy systems and disease intersect, innovation and health care triumph.”
The gallery will be dedicated to human biology, medicine, health care and innovation. Through the interactive gallery, guests will discover how the body works, the steps to prevent injuries and promote wellness and the breakthroughs that help us back to good health. Mayfield Brain & Spine is a nationally known independent neurosurgery practice with 21 neurosurgeons and 275 associates in Greater Cincinnati. Those surgeons and other providers treat brain tumors, spinal deformity, strokes and a variety of other disorders of the brain and spine, making Mayfield a natural partner for the new gallery.
“Our commitment to public health education for patients and their families has endured since our founding in 1937,” said Dr. Andrew Ringer, a neurosurgeon and chairman of Mayfield’s Board of Directors. “Generations of patients from Greater Cincinnati and beyond have lived healthier, more productive lives because of Mayfield expertise. This collaboration with Cincinnati Museum Center is another way we serve the community that is our home.”
Mark Vorherr, Mayfield chief executive officer, said Cincinnati Museum Center has built a track record of educating and entertaining guests, an ideal match for Mayfield’s commitment to serving patients from here and around the country.
“We are excited to join a long-term partnership with another wonderful regional icon with an educational mission to make this gallery possible,” Vorherr said.
