After a long hiatus, come celebrate the reopening of the Bay Horse Café on April 30. Located at 625 Main Street, this spot is the perfect place when you’re looking for a low-key neighborhood bar with great food and drink prices. The Bay Horse Café will finally have the vintage sign featuring the animated horse illuminating Main Street once again. Pedal Wagon has announced a new participating location for those who love to pedal around with their friends in Downtown Cincinnati. Rebel Mettle Brewery is the latest stop to be added to the tour. Participants can stop at the brewery during any of the “cruises” offered, featuring themes such as “Cincinnati Mural Tour,” “Bikes Bevies & Brunch,” “Cincinnati Brewery Cruise,” and other fun options. For those who love historic architecture and learning about Cincinnati’s landmarks, Friends of Music Hall has brought back the popular Outdoor Building Tour of Music Hall. Visitors can enjoy an hour-long tour filled with historical details about the construction of Music Hall in 1878 and what the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood and city of Cincinnati were like during that time. This is an outdoors-only tour of Music Hall, and guests must wear a mask and maintain a distance of six feet from those in other groups. Tours are held on Thursdays at 4 p.m. and Saturdays at 10 a.m. through the end of November. To purchase tickets, click here.
The next time you visit Pendleton, check out the latest bar and restaurant to open in the neighborhood. Bar Saeso, located at 1208 Sycamore Street, offers a relaxing vibe and handcrafted cocktails. The back of the bar serves as a taqueria, offering margaritas and Mexican fare from Pata Roja. Pata Roja is a new food startup created by Derrick Braziel, the co-founder of Mortar, the local business incubator program serving several neighborhoods throughout Cincinnati. The taqueria is open Tuesday-Sunday from 4-10 p.m. Bar Saeso is open Monday–Friday from 4–10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 10 p.m. The bar also offers a new patio, so go order some delicious tacos and enjoy your meal outdoors.
Next Thursday evening, join the YWCA in honoring the 2021 Career Women of Achievement from 7-8 p.m. This award luncheon and fundraising event was established in 1980 to promote “awareness and appreciation of the diverse contributions of women in the workforce and in the community.” As in 2020, this year’s event will be available to view as a both a televised broadcast on WCPO and online, with all proceeds directly benefitting YWCA programs.
