YMCA - Your Gifts at work

ENGAGING, CONNECTING, REMOVING BARRIERS: How your donations are fueling the Y’s commitment to Social Responsibility

Donors like you make our work possible. The impact of your generosity is felt in everything we do at the Y and in our communities. Now, more than ever, you have allowed us to make lasting change and create a better future.

This past year has shed light on some of our darkest needs- our need for connection and relationship-and our greater calling to help our brothers and sisters in need- not only in pandemic times but also beyond. Your gift allows us to be a lifeline to your neighbors and friends in need.

As our community recovers from the COVID-19, we’re leaning in with you. We’re stepping up. We’re recommitting ourselves to one of our foundational core beliefs- that we are better together, we’re better in community, and we have a responsibility to one another. This work is not new to the Y, but our intentionality has been laser-focused on taking care of our people. YOU made this dream a reality!

How are we doing this? The Y has created a new Social Responsibility Department to build infrastructure and systems that will provide sustainable ways to resource, connect, and transform lives.

The Social Responsibility Department is listening to the needs of each of our communities by working with the branches and positioning the Y to be part of the solutions. They will provide branch-specific opportunities for volunteer engagement and community-specific resourcing programs. Thanks to you, your neighbors can get the resources they need right where they live.

While we continue to build new systems of providing resources, we have highlighted a few of the initiatives we currently focus on in this newsletter. Check out all the great work YOUR DONATIONS are doing!

Thank you for your commitment to transforming lives. Because of you, the Y can be here for all. Here for good.
