Diversity means all the ways we differ. The power of diversity is unleashed when we respect and value differences.

Inclusion is an intentional process through which differences are harnessed to create value.

Together the Cincinnati Business Courier and the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, with its nationally recognized Minority Business Accelerator, celebrate and elevate the important contributors in ensuring a more diverse, inclusive and equitable Cincinnati business community. This annual celebration honors and brings awareness to the businesses, entrepreneurs and nonprofits of all sizes that are leading the way in transforming their organizations and the regional economy.

Organizational Awards

We will accept nominations of organizations in the private, public and nonprofit sectors that showcase successful efforts with measurable business success in making their organization more equitable and inclusive. Award categories are purposely broad-based so that nominees of any scale can provide vivid stories of people, programs, practices, policy and partnerships that have increased diversity, promoted equity and advanced full inclusion.

Potential areas to consider are: demonstrating best practices; transforming workplace cultures; developing innovative or equitable human resources policies; advocating for transformational policy change (in government); bridging cultural divides; promoting supplier diversity; leveraging employee resource groups; practicing inclusive capitalism to drive more inclusive & successful workplaces; catalyzing community impact; or advancing gender or racial equity.

Individual Awards

Up to three Diverse by Design™ awards may be given for unparalleled leadership in diversity and inclusion. Awards may be presented to an executive leader, a person who has successfully led from “the middle of the table,” or a staff position, or to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional courage in building a more inclusive community.

Minority Business Accelerator Awards

The CLIMB Awards also honor portfolio companies of the Chamber's Minority Business Accelerator that are driving its goals for the growth of the aggregate sales of its portfolio companies by $1 billion; creating more than 3,500 new jobs; and increasing supplier diversity investment in the region through its "goal setter" companies. The Minority Business Accelerator will honor the portfolio company that is excelling in community impact, innovation or pioneering the path for growth as the company grows. The Minority Business Accelerator will honor a "goal setter" company who most helped create jobs and grow the vibrancy and economic prosperity through its commitment to a diversified supply chain and direct investment in minority businesses. Nominations for Minority Business Accelerator Awards must be for a current portfolio company in good standing.
