ProKids Awarded $5,000 from CAI Insurance Agency through Liberty Mutual Insurance Company® and Safeco Insurance® 2023 Make More Happen™ Awards
Supporters Can Help Double the Donation to $10,000 by Voting for their Agent Giving Story
CINCINNATI, Ohio (August 9, 2023) — Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance have awarded CAI Insurance Agency a 2023 Make More Happen Award for its volunteerism with ProKids, a nonprofit organization dedicated to mobilizing the local community to break the vicious cycle of child abuse and neglect. The award includes an initial donation of $5,000 for ProKids, which can be doubled to $10,000 just by having community supporters vote online.
The CAI Insurance Agency and ProKids community story will be highlighted on the official Make More Happen microsite at www.agentgiving.com/CAI-Insurance-Agency, where supporters can vote to help the team reach their donation goal. If the featured story receives a mix of at least 500 votes and comments, the $5,000 donation will be raised to $10,000.
Aging out of foster care is the worst-case scenario that can lead teens to be on their own without money and unprepared for adulthood. The $10,000 donation will benefit the organization’s Launch Advocacy Teams program to support 32 at-risk youth and help them graduate from high school, pass the GED, gain housing, obtain employment, and explore post-secondary education. The program also facilitates job searches, interviews, employer expectations, while teaching important life skills including decision making, budgeting, how to handle conflict and more.
“There’s a significant lack of services available to older youth to help them transition into adulthood and we’re honored to support ProKids and invest in the future of these deserving kids,” said Mike Schlotman, president of CAI Insurance. “We are grateful to Liberty Mutual and Safeco for providing much-needed funds to continue their impactful work and thrilled at the opportunity to double the donation just by calling on the community to show their support.”
The CAI team has been involved with ProKids advocacy programs, volunteering with Launch and planning philanthropic efforts. The agency also attends the ProKids annual Friends of the Children Breakfast, which helps the community gain in-depth insight into the kids and families ProKids serves.

Throughout 2023, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance will select up to 37 independent agents nationwide for a Make More Happen Award donating up to $370,000 to the nonprofits they support. Agencies became eligible for the award by submitting an application and photos demonstrating their commitment to a specific nonprofit.
