Join ArtWorks Youth Artist Exhibition Program

Source

This year we launched our ArtWorks’ Youth Gallery at our office in Walnut Hills. The Youth Gallery Exhibition program is a collaborative artist-led apprenticeship where youth (ages 16-23) learn the materials and methods of the artist to make their own unique and individual works of art. The program engages youth artists to represent their art through artist statements, gallery talks, opening events, and community events. The final works are displayed in a group exhibit with all proceeds going directly to the youth artists.

Cut the Bias will be our third Youth Gallery Exhibit led by artists Karla Batres Gilvin and Bradly Gilvin (Batres-Gilvin) In this four-week program, the Youth Gallery team will create punched metal, crazy quilts exploring the complexities of identity, the patchwork of our community and folk-art traditions, while finding patterns of connectivity.

Here is the link to the application. The deadline to apply has been extended to September 10, 2021.
