WHAT: Join Cincinnati Museum Center for a preview of its newest featured exhibition, Julia Child: A Recipe for Life.

Julia Child: A Recipe for Life immerses you in the essential ingredients to Julia’s personal journey – from her early days in Paris to her groundbreaking cookbook and TV show. Discover the passion and perseverance that made her a culinary icon and be inspired by her legacy – one that continues to influence generations of food enthusiasts and trailblazers.

  • Step onto an interactive “The French Chef” television studio, operate a vintage camera, mix “ingredients” and feel like part of the show
  • Find your favorite recipes in a larger-than-life Mastering the Art of French Cooking that comes to life with animated text and illustrations
  • Add a dash of STEM by converting recipes from metric to imperial units, just as Julia did for her readers
  • Share your own heartfelt “Dear Julia” message and read fan letters from people of all ages and backgrounds

Also included in the exhibition is a local component pulled from Cincinnati Museum Center’s collections showcasing Cincinnati’s passion for food and the chefs who feed it. From French cuisine’s introduction to the Queen City by Edith Hern Fossett, an enslaved cook in the kitchens of Thomas Jefferson’s White House and Monticello, to the dishes of Chef Pierre Adrian that earned the Masionette its five stars, to the culinary family tree of Chef Jean-Robert de Cavel, Cincinnati’s five-star culinary story shines.

Julia Child: A Recipe for Life will be open February 1 to May 18 at Cincinnati Museum Center.
