Hispanic Chamber Cincinnati Foundation Announces New Executive Director, Luz Schemmel
Cincinnati (Ohio), April 27, 2026. Alfonso Cornejo, President of the Hispanic Chamber Cincinnati USA, announced today that effective May 15, 2026, Luz Elena Schemmel will be the new Executive Director of the Hispanic Chamber Cincinnati Foundation (HCCUSA Foundation). She succeeds Daniel Minera, who held the position for 11 years. Luz Elena Schemmel is an economist from Puebla, Mexico, with a master's degree in public administration from Indiana State University. Catholic Charities Springfield Office is Now Open!
This July, Catholic Charities celebrated its new office in Springfield, Ohio through a meet and greet with some of our closest community partners. The Springfield Empowerment Center now hosts new services for job development, self-sufficiency and immigration legal support.
