What we offer:
Competitive Pay
- Starting salary is based on experience: $23.00/hr ($43,300.00/yr) with no experience, up to $28.75/hr ($54,100.00/yr) with 10+ years in the same role.
- Hourly role paid bi-weekly.
Work-Life Balance

Funding Specialist
As a Funding Specialist, you'll spend your day reviewing and processing service authorizations, monitoring funding and service utilization, and ensuring payment information is accurate and compliant with Medicaid waiver requirements. You'll collaborate with Service and Support Administrators, providers, and agency staff to answer funding questions, resolve billing issues, and provide guidance on available resources and authorization requirements. Whether you're analyzing reports, troubleshooting payment concerns, or supporting service planning, your work helps ensure individuals receive the services they need while maintaining compliance with state and federal funding requirements.
Job Duties (Summary):
- Administer waiver funding and payment authorization processes by preparing, calculating, and entering service authorization and fiscal data into state systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Review and process payment authorization documentation, obtain required approvals, monitor service utilization, and research and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Manage funding projections and service authorization records, including maintaining authorized services, household information, and notifying staff when services exceed available funding thresholds.
- Serve as the agency's funding resource by consulting with case management staff, providers, and interdisciplinary teams regarding waiver funding, service costs, eligibility, and authorization requirements.
- Provide technical assistance and training to agency staff and service providers on funding procedures, payment authorization processes, Medicaid waiver requirements, and compliance with state funding rules.
- Act as the primary liaison between the agency, service providers, and billing personnel to resolve funding, billing, utilization, and payment issues while ensuring administrative and fiscal accuracy.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of funding and provider billing records to verify that services authorized align with services billed, communicate findings, and support reporting and corrective actions.
- Participate in policy development, stakeholder workgroups, system implementation activities, and continuous improvement initiatives related to waiver administration, funding processes, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners, including providers, county board staff, and state agencies, to support effective service delivery and compliance with Medicaid waiver requirements.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of demonstrably related experience
- Ability to travel within Hamilton County as needed
- Must be able to pass criminal background checks, driver's abstract, and various abuser registry checks
