Position Summary
The Assistant Manager supports the daily operations of Taco Works, ensuring smooth service, consistent food quality, and a positive team environment. This role works closely with the General Manager to lead staff, maintain operational standards, and deliver an exceptional guest experience. The ideal candidate is organized, energetic, detail-oriented, and capable of leading by example.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Service
- Assist in overseeing daily restaurant operations (opening, shift changes, closing).
- Ensure high-quality food preparation, accurate order execution, and consistent presentation.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized front- and back-of-house environment.
- Monitor service flow, guest interactions, and problem resolution.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, train, motivate, and coach team members.
- Support scheduling, staffing, and shift assignments.
- Foster a positive and productive work culture.
- Provide on-the-spot coaching and feedback to improve performance.
Customer Experience
- Ensure every guest receives friendly, timely, and high-quality service.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.
- Promote a welcoming environment that encourages repeat visits.
Financial & Administrative
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, and waste control.
- Help monitor labor costs, food costs, and operational expenses.
- Ensure cash handling and POS procedures are followed accurately.
- Support record-keeping, compliance, and health department standards.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
- Ensure team compliance with health department requirements and company policies.
- Maintain a safe environment for both staff and guests.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of restaurant leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lead by example and motivate team members.
- Comfortable with inventory, scheduling, and basic administrative tasks.
- Flexible availability (evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed).
- Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
