Health Connections Direct Primary Care is a patient-centered, bilingual (Spanish/English) Direct Primary Care practice dedicated to providing high-quality, personalized care. We believe in building strong relationships with our patients and offering comprehensive services that support their health and well-being. Our practice emphasizes preventative care, chronic disease management, and long-term wellness, as well as providing immigration medical exam services - and we are looking for a compassionate, organized, and proactive individual to join our team.

Position Overview

We are seeking a bilingual Lead Medical Assistant / Office Manager who will play a dual role in both clinical and administrative functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical assisting and office management, with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. This person will manage the daily operations of the clinic, supervise support staff, assist in patient care, and ensure an exceptional experience for our patients.

Key ResponsibilitiesMedical Assistant Duties (50% of role)

  • Patient Care:
  • Assist the physician in providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients.
  • Prepare patients for exams, including taking vital signs, collecting medical history, and assisting with in-office procedures.
  • Administer injections, perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and process lab specimens.
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Coordinate follow-up care, including scheduling, patient education, and lab result communication.
  • Manage electronic medical records (EMR) and complete forms for immigration exams with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of patient-centered wellness programs.
  • Patient Communication:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, answering questions and providing excellent customer service.
  • Communicate with patients in both English and Spanish regarding their medical care, appointments, and follow-up needs.

Office Manager Duties (50% of role)

  • Administrative Operations:
  • Oversee day-to-day office operations, including scheduling, supply management, vaccine management, and workflow optimization.
  • Supervise and train office staff, ensuring a smooth and efficient workplace.
  • Maintain office policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices.
  • Manage billing processes, membership renewals, and patient accounts.
  • Handle human resources-related tasks.
  • Work with the physician to manage the budget, expenses, and vendor relationships.
  • Patient Relations and Marketing:
  • Ensure a welcoming, friendly atmosphere for patients in both English and Spanish.
  • Support patient recruitment and retention efforts, including outreach and community engagement.
  • Manage social media accounts, website updates, and email communications for practice marketing.
  • Assist in organizing and promoting educational workshops, wellness events, and other patient-centered activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
  • Interest in working with patients from different cultures and linguistic backgrounds
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification or RN or LPN license preferred.
  • Previous experience in a medical assistant role and/or as an office manager.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and strong computer skills.
  • Excellent problem solving skills, attention to detail, willingness to learn, and follow-up.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Passion for delivering compassionate, personalized care in a DPC model.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a Direct Primary Care (DPC) or similar healthcare setting.
  • Experience working with interpreters.
  • Familiarity with chronic disease management, patient education, and wellness programs.
  • Experience managing social media and digital marketing for healthcare practices.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and human resources procedures.
