Essential Functions:
Direct Patient Care
  • Works well with children and takes initiative to explain process/test.
  • Shows empathy and willingness to create a positive experience and put patient at ease.
  • Supports daily patient flow.
Clinical Knowledge
  • Performs all pre-examination testing with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Understands how to communicate testing process for patient comprehension.
Administrative
  • Handles and files all patient records in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of scheduling and computer processing procedures.
  • Ensures pretest and exam room supply list is maintained on a daily/monthly basis.
Clinic Appearance
  • Takes pride in the appearance of the exam/pre-test area and portable set up and shows initiative in keeping areas clean, organized and professional looking.
  • Assists with moving/setting up at the portable equipment / locations
  • Responsible for the maintenance and disinfection of equipment and testing tools.
  • Promotes Mission, Vision, and Values of The HealthCare Connection.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and use hands. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee may need to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. This position requires the employee to drive, help transport and set up equipment and perform work offsite at multiple locations while working with the portable vision program. 
 
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Previous ophthalmic certification preferred
 
WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Experience working individually with children of all ages preferred
  • Previous experience in customer service preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills (friendly, caring, patient)
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Strong basic math skills
  • Track record of being flexible/adapting to changing environments (required with portable vision program)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records
